Craft Beer Tasting Notes: April 20

Looks like we’re finally heading toward lighter-bodied seasonal brews, even though it still seems like spring is only just now upon us. Plenty of new options in stock. If you’re a fan of the gose style, a slightly salty and tart wheat beer, you’ve gotta try the new Field House Sour Wheat Gose, which is one of the tastiest interpretations of the style we’ve ever had. It’s incredibly refreshing.

Field House Sour Wheat Gose 3.8% 500ml (Abbotsford, BC)
Pours a hazy golden yellow colour. Briny, tart mango notes on the nose. Nice saltiness up front followed by grainy malt notes and tart mango acidity on the finish. Perfectly balanced gose.

Persephone Keller Pilsner 5% 650ml (Gibsons, BC)
Dank, piney, citrus/lemon hop notes dominate on the nose. On the palate it’s very hop heavy with notes of lemon, cannabis, grainy malt and a big, bitter finish.

Fernie Single Speed Belgian Blonde 4.8% 650ml (Fernie, BC)
