Two big, potent beers arrived from Howe Sound this week. The first is the much talked about Megadestroyer Licorice Imperial Stout. Perhaps taking its cues from Deschutes Brewing’s The Abyss, which is also made with licorice, this mouth-coating, black-as-night brew is a big, flavourful beer that was originally brewed for Vancouver’s Alibi Room. This will no doubt sell out quickly.
The other new offering from Howe Sound is their latest seasonal, Total Eclispse of the Hop, a double IPA that’s packed with 6 varieties of tasty hops. This one’s a regular part of the Squamish brewery’s seasonal lineup, so expect it to stick around for a couple months.
