We only have a couple new arrivals in this week’s Wine Wednesday post, but they are some interesting offerings that we’re sure you’ll enjoy.
The first is A Proper Claret from Bonny Doon, the first Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine notoriously Rhone-centric owner Randall Grahm has put forth since the mid-’80s. It’s fermented with naturally occurring yeasts and is modest in stature—not overly extracted or high in alcohol. It is the kind of powerful, but understated Bordeaux-style blend that goes well with food.
The other new release is Spice Route Chenin Blanc from South Africa, a nice addition to our growing number of Chenins.
Bonny Doon A Proper Claret 13.5% (California) $36.90
