Heading into the BC Day Long Weekend, we’ve launched our first-ever BC Wine Feature.
It’s a readymade selection of wines available for FREE delivery in the Victoria area!
All 6 wines are from Moon Cursor Vineyard, in Osoyoos, BC. Where it’s HOT, as you can tell by the alcohol levels of these massive, while extremely balanced, red wines.
5 reds, and 1 white. The white being an Arneis. You rarely see this traditionally Italian varietal grown in BC. They’re typically weighty and floral with tree fruit notes of pear and apricot. This vintage is complex and chalky with a super crisp finish, hiding the alcohol extremely well.
Their Tempranillo is what raised our eyebrows most recently. It’s exactly what you expect out of a bold, fruity Rioja yet connected to the Okanagan with a distinctively spicy and elegant mouthfeel with a savouriness on the finish.
The Touriga Nacional grape is typically seen blended in classic Port wines. Like the Arneis, you rarely see it outside of it’s home region, and this may be the only example of this varietal in BC. Growing with low yield, in super small bunches – it’s a heavily concentrated grape with black fruit notes and high in tannin. One for the cellar!
BC excels with Bordeaux varietals, and Moon Cursor offers single-varietal examples. Malbec, lower in tannin while juicy and fresh. Petit Verdot, a full-bodied, dark berry & blueberry focused flavour profile and excellent texture. Border Vines which is a Merlot-focused blend, containing rich plum, toasty oak notes with tons of structure.
For 1 of each of these 6 Moon Cursor wines, the total comes to $219.00.
