Unoaked – Aromas of white peach, pear & guava juicy, spicy nuances of vanilla & cookies. Full body, a wonderful balance between fruit & spice. Excellently integrated acidity.
Joya, Branco 2019 – 9.5% (Lisboa, POR)
Unoaked – Very aromatic, highlighted vivid citrus with a bright effervescence and good acidity. Low alcohol. Think Vinho Verde.
Boschendal, Lanoy 2018 – Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot – 14% (Western Cape, SA)
Heavier – Bright mulberry, blackcurrant & plum notes with tobacco on the nose. Similar rich dark fruits on the palate, supported by ripe tannins & cigar box spiciness. Well integrated & smooth, with a lingering rich finish.
La Fea 2019 – Tempranillo, Garnacha & Syrah – 14% (Carinena, ESP)
Medium – Lovely dark fruit on the nose & sweet fruit on the palate. High acidity & medium tannins make this blend a very balanced & easy going table wine.
Yalumba, The Y Series 2019 – Syrah Viognier – 14.5% (South Australia)
Heavier – A luscious & exotic aroma of Turkish delight, ripe red cherries & boysenberry with hints of white pepper. The full bodied & pleasing velvety tannins provide a perfect complement to the ripe finish.
Famille Perrin, Les Chaberts 2020 – Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache & Syrah – 13.5% (Ventoux, FRA)
Heavier – This wine is expressive with notes of red fruit & cinnamon. Its fresh, smooth & reveals aromas of strawberries & very supple tannins.
