Sauce Hound March Newsletter: Don’t Drink Green Beer

luck of irish

It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day and as a public service, we’re offering some alternatives to going out and drinking overpriced “green” beer (food dye in a pale lager) at an overcrowded bar. If you’re looking to cut loose on March 17, how about celebrating all things Irish with some of these products?

Not surprisingly, we sell more Guinness on St. Patty’s day than any other day of the year. But it’s not the only Irish beer option if stouts aren’t your thing. We also have delicious, dry Kilkenny Cream Ale, and we even have a couple North American versions of Irish styles.

Guinness 4-pack cans
Kilkenny Cream Ale 4-pack cans

North American
Russell Luck of the Irish Red Ale 650ml
Rogue Irish Style Lager 650ml

Bushmills 750ml
Connemara Peated Single Malt 750ml
Jameson 375 & 750ml
Teeling 750ml
Writer’s Tears 750ml

Bailey’s Irish Cream (in a variety of sizes)
Feeney’s Irish Cream 375 & 750ml

We also wanted to mention that we have set the date for our next Extreme Beer Tasting at the Whole Beast and Village Butcher in Oak Bay on Thursday, April 30. This time we’ll be focusing on Belgian beers (and maybe a North American version or two) and will have a whole variety of styles paired with delicious meat products. We’ll be sending out an event-specific newsletter in April with more details on how to purchase tickets both online and in-store for this event.
