The holiday beers are rolling in, and we’ve got some great ones this year. Of course, you can always count on standbys like Granville Island’s Lions Winter Ale, Vancouver Island’s Hermannator eisbock and Howe Sound’s Father John’s Winter Ale (all of which are currently in stock), but this year, we’re bringing in some extra special imports. One must-try that just arrived is Scaldis Noel from Brasserie Dubuisson in Belgium. This beer is billed as the “strongest Belgian Christmas beer” and boasts a whopping 13% ABV. Another one we just put on the shelves is Speciale Noel from Brasserie La Binchoise. It’s also a high alcohol Belgian (9% ABV) and is noted for winning the platinum medal at the World Beer Championships in Chicago in 1995.
We have more on the way, so stay tuned here (or follow us on Twitter) for further announcements!
Update 10/29/10: We just got in the Brasserie de l’Abbaye de Rocs Speciale Noel ale (9% ABV), yet another great holiday beer perfect for gifting to your favorite beer geek, or even bringing to a holiday party.
